School Officials Travel to Des Moines

Charles City, IA – Members from different school districts in Iowa traveled to Des Moines last Wednesday to meet with members of legislature.

Dr. Dan Cox, Charles City’s superintendent, has been traveling down for the last couple of years to talk about education issues. He says what topics were discussed.

The group met with about 30 members form the house and senate. Cox says that he thinks the conversations went well.

Dr. Cox will be traveling back down there again this week to discuss some more.

Charles City Schools covers 243 square miles. Dr. Cox added that it sounds like school funding will get set in the next couple of weeks.

Chris was born in Webster City and raised in Charles City. As a young kid, he would always be caught singing along to songs on the radio. He says he's good at karaoke but we think otherwise. ;) In his free time, he enjoys beginning new projects at home and hardly ever finishing them. Chris lives in Charles City with his wife Vicki, daughter Brynlee and son Jaxon.
