Day Care in Manly Avoids Criminal Charges after Baby’s Death

Manly, IA – A 9-1-1 call was received in December about a baby who was not breathing. The baby would pass on.

7-month-old Haven Rozevink died on Dec. 28 at her day care provider in Manly. She was in her car seat when she would slip down, tightening the straps around her neck.

The Iowa Department of Human Services and local authorities recently released that they will not be pressing criminal charges. The two groups made the decision after they had conducted an investigation.

The call was made to 9-1-1 at around 3 p.m. on Dec. 28. The DHS would respond about an hour later. No foul play was expected.
