The Rockford Warrior boys basketball team was in a Class 1A District 4 Semi-Final last night as they were in Clarksville taking on Hudson.  The Warriors started the game strong and built an eleven point lead at halftime, but the Pirates would cut the lead to three at the end of three and took over in the fourth to beat Rockford 38-34.  Zach Bushbaum led the Warriors with 12 points as they see their season come to a close with a record of 17-6.

Moving on to some college basketball now, the Iowa State Cyclone Men’s Basketball team is at home in Big-12 play tonight against TCU. The Cyclones are 4-10 in the league race and were hammered by the Horned Frogs 96-73 in the first meeting in Fort Worth.

That’s Iowa State head men’s basketball coach Steve Prohm who says the Cyclones need to be efficient on offense and play solid defense.

TCU is 6-8 in the Big 12 and will be in search of its first win in Ames since joining the conference.  You can tune into the Cyclone game tonight right here on KCHA.

Two teams looking to snap losing skids meet in Williams Arena tonight when the Iowa Hawkeye Men’s Basketball team visits Minnesota. A condensed Big Ten schedule leaves a quick turnaround for the Gophers, who lost in overtime at Wisconsin on Monday night. Here is Iowa head men’s basketball coach Fran McCaffery.

The Hawkeyes have dropped five straight and have played more zone the last two games as McCaffery continues to search for answers on defense.

The Gophers have dropped nine straight and both teams enter 3-13 in the league race.  You can tune into the Iowa vs. Minnesota game on our sister station 951 The Bull.
