KCHA Sports Report (2/22)

In a game heard right here on KCHA last night, the Iowa State Cyclone Men’s Basketball team was at home against TCU in Big 12 play.  The Horned Frogs were able to make 16 of 19 two point shots in the second half and they beat the Cyclones 89-83 in Hilton Coliseum. TCU connected on 58 percent for the game.

That’s ISU coach Steve Prohm who says the Cyclones struggled guarding the dribble.

Iowa State played with only seven players and got to within one on several occasions down the stretch.

Donovan Jackson led the Cyclones with 27 points as they drop to 4-11 in the Big 12.

In a game heard on our sister station 951 The Bull last night, the Iowa Hawkeye Men’s Basketball team could not overcome a horrendous start and lost at Minnesota 86-82. The Gophers jumped on the Hawkeyes and led 22-2 at the outset.

Iowa coach Fran McCaffery. Isaiah Moss had a career-high 32 to lead Iowa.

The loss was the sixth straight for the Hawkeyes who fall to 3-14 in the Big Ten.

And finally today, the Charles City Comet boys basketball team will be at home tonight for a Class 3A Sub-State 2 Semi-Final against Webster City.  The Comet boys come in at 17-4 overall this season while Webster City is 14-8.  You can tune into this game tonight right here on KCHA starting with a pre-game at about 6:45 and tip-off is scheduled for 7pm.
