Riceville Schools Closed Thursday Due To Potential Safety Threat

Riceville, Iowa – According the website for the Riceville Community School District, the schools are closed on Thursday, February 22nd due to a potential safety concern that was directed toward the district.

The message on the school website reads, “Due to the potential seriousness of this situation school will not be in session on 2-22-18. The Howard County Sheriffs Department is currently investigating the situation and we will release more details when they are available. Please refer to the district website, Facebook, and Twitter pages often for updated information.”
