The Northeast Iowa Conference recently released its All-Conference honors for boys and girls basketball and numerous Charles City Comets were honored. On the boys side, Jack Molstead and Cade Hemaseth were named to the First Team.
Molstead led the conference in scoring with over 19 points per game, he also led the conference in assists per game with close to seven and a half per game.
Hemaseth was the leading rebounder in the conference as he grabbed close to nine per game, he also led the NEIC in field goal percentage making over 60% of his shots and in blocks averaging almost two per game and was seventh in scoring with 12.5 points per game.
Noah Schlader earned Second Team honors as he was eighth in the conference in steals with 1.33/game and finished the year scoring over ten points per game in conference play.
Mike Cranshaw was named as an Honorable Mention selection as he finished in the top ten in points with 12.5 points per game, assists with three per game, steals with almost two per game and free throw percentage 78%.
The Comet boys finished the year with a conference record of 10-2 which was good for second in the NEIC standings.
On the girls side, Jodie Sindlinger was named to the Second Team as she finished the year with almost eight points per game which led the Comets, she also had a team-high three and a half rebounds per game and was tops on the team in field goal percentage.
Payton Reams received Honorable Mention honors as she was the team leader in assists with over two and a half per game which was in the top ten in the conference as well. Reams also led the Comets in three point field goal percentage and was second in rebounding.
The Comet girls finished the NEIC season at 0-12. Congratulations to the six Comets who earned post-season honors from the Northeast Iowa Conference.
