Fredericksburg, IA – The Sumner-Fredericksburg School District still has a few months left in the 2017-2018 school year, but their superintendent is already working on next year’s calendar.

Fred Matlage, superintendent for SF Schools, says how the process is going.

Students may not like it, but the district might be able to start classes a little earlier next fall.

Matlage says that schools can plan a calendar based off of 180 school days or 1,080 hours. He says the district kind of runs on both because you never know how many snow days will happen throughout the school year.
