The Iowa High School Athletic Association’ boys basketball state tournament is winding down at the Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines. Yesterday they had the Class 1A and 2A consolation games and the Class 3A and 4A semi-finals. In Class 3A, Glenwood downed Cedar Rapids Xavier 69-63 and Oskaloosa beat Waverly-Shell Rock 48-45. Now Glenwood will play Oskaloosa in the Class 3A Championship tonight at 6:30 while Cedar Rapids Xavier will go up against Waverly-Shell Rock in the Consolation game this morning. In Class 4A, Iowa City West beat Waukee 58-50 and Cedar Falls got a 67-58 win over West Des Moines Valley. The Class 4A Championship game between Iowa City West and Cedar Falls will be played tonight at 8:15 and the Consolation game between Waukee and West Des Moines Valley will be played early this afternoon. The Class 1A Finals will feature North Linn, Troy Mills against Grand View Christian at 2pm and Treynor will play against Cascade in the Class 2A Finals today at around 4pm.
The Missouri Valley Conference continues its Women’s basketball tournament today. The UNI Panther women are the three seed at the tournament and they will have their first game tonight as they will take on Illinois State in the Quarter-Finals. Tip-off is scheduled for 8:30. The Drake Bulldog women are the top-seed at the tournament as they finished the conference regular season undefeated. Their first game will be this afternoon against eighth seeded Valparaiso. The Semi-Finals will be played tomorrow and the finals will take place on Sunday. All games are being played in the Quad Cities at the I-Wireless Center.
