Threat Lands Woman Behind Bars

Cerro Gordo County, IA – A woman was arrested in February after threatening a man’s life in Cerro Gordo County. A no-contact order was issued the following day.

55-year-old Valerie Clayton of Dumont had allegedly told the victim that she would show up at his home and kill him on Feb. 27. This led to her being charged with first-degree harassment and being taken to the Cerro Gordo County Jail.

This occurred in the 100 block of Fourth St. Southwest. Clayton was released from the jail under the supervision of the Department of Correctional Services.
