Woman injured in downtown Mason City crash

Mason City, Iowa – A woman was injured in a crash in downtown Mason City on Monday evening.

Mason City Police the crash happened at the intersection of 1st Street NW and North Washington Ave. The report says Leslie Coe of Mason City was traveling westbound in a Jeep when she failed to stop at a stop light and was hit by a southbound truck driven by Michael Lavite of Illinois.

The Jeep rolled over the hood of another vehicle before landing on its side.

Coe had to be extracted from the vehicle before being transported to Mercy Medical Center North Iowa.

She was charged with disobeying a traffic control device.
