Charles City’s annual Spring Clean Up dates have been announced

Charles City, Iowa – Charles City has set their 23rd annual spring cleanup dates for the end of April.

That’s Charles City Administrator Steve Diers who says he doesn’t expect many changes to the guidelines from past years.

You’re allowed to have one pile no larger than 2 feet wide by 3 feet high by 8 feet long, plus one bulky items, such as a couch, mattress, box spring, recliner, etc. If you have garbage that exceeds the guidelines, you’ll need to call Jendro Sanitation at 228-3525 to schedule a pick up. There will be a fee for any additional items.

You’re asked to have your items bagged, if possible, to allow for easier collection.

You can begin setting out your garbage beginning on Saturday April 21st. Anything placed curbside before that date will result in a nuisance violation. All mattresses, box springs or other bulky items will need to be set curbside by 5am on Monday April 23rd for a separate pick-up.

For more information or if you have questions, please contact City Hall at (641) 257-6300.
