Charles City, Iowa – Charles City Schools Superintendent Dr. Dan Cox submitted his resignation at the school board meeting on Monday night, effective June 30th.
Cox says he’s proud of what’s all been accomplished during his tenure. The Iowa Big North consortium that was put in place between Rudd, Rockford & Marble Rock, Osage, New Hampton and Charles City is high on that list.
The new Charles City Middle School facility was also a big moment for him and the community.
Cox says a lot of innovative things have come out of our community schools.
Cox spoke about the future of the modernization of the high school, or phase 2.
His contract with the Sioux City based AEA is anticipated to be approved this week. He said it’s been a wonderful five years.
The school board began the search for his replacement Monday night.
