Charles City officially switches to wheeled totes for garbage/recycling collections

Charles City, Iowa – Garbage and recycling collection in Charles City will see some changes beginning today.

That’s City Administrator Steve Diers who says the biggest change will be for recycling collections.

Alan Powell with Jendro Sanitation explains the changes.

Jendro purchased an arm-truck earlier this year that will be used to dump the new totes, something Powell says is a big change for his drivers.

Powell says the placement of the totes at the curb is very important.

Chris was born in Webster City and raised in Charles City. As a young kid, he would always be caught singing along to songs on the radio. He says he's good at karaoke but we think otherwise. ;) In his free time, he enjoys beginning new projects at home and hardly ever finishing them. Chris lives in Charles City with his wife Vicki, daughter Brynlee and son Jaxon.
