
Janesville, Iowa – One person has been arrested following a high-speed chase on Thursday, which ended just south of Janesville.
According to the Iowa State Patrol, a trooper south of Nashua attempted to stop a black Chevrolet Impala with North Dakota plates because of speeding but the driver refused to yield.
The chase continued south on Highway 218, at times driving south in the northbound lanes.
Authorities say stop sticks were deployed at Highway 3 and near Janesville. The car finally come to a stop in a ditch just south of Janesville, with the driver then fleeing into a nearby field.
The name of the man arrested hasn’t yet been released.
Those who assisted the Iowa State Patrol include the Motor Vehicle Enforcement and the Black Hawk County Sheriff’s Office.
