Charles City Rotary Club to plant second round of trees

Charles City, Iowa – The Charles City Rotary Club, with the assistance of the Charles City FFA Club, will plant the second set of trees on May 16th, finishing the tree project that started last fall.

Project organizer and Rotarian Chris Garden talks about the project.

The Rotary Club made a recent donation to the Charles City FFA Club to help purchase a tree auger that is on the FFA club’s tractor. The Charles City Lions Club also made a recent donation toward the auger purchase.

Lions Club President Tad Barry said they are happy to be a part of the project.

The trees will be identified by their species along with other tree information on signs that will be made by the Charles City FFA Club.

Once the project is final, the Rotary Club will have planted around 100 trees around the community of Charles City.

Chris was born in Webster City and raised in Charles City. As a young kid, he would always be caught singing along to songs on the radio. He says he's good at karaoke but we think otherwise. ;) In his free time, he enjoys beginning new projects at home and hardly ever finishing them. Chris lives in Charles City with his wife Vicki, daughter Brynlee and son Jaxon.
