Fayette County operation fined for fish kill

Maynard, Iowa – The Iowa Department of Natural Resources has ordered penalties and restitution for a fish kill related to manure spills.

The D-N-R says the Raymond Forsyth Farms near Maynard was assessed 49-hundred dollars in restitution and a two-thousand-dollar penalty.

It was determined that manure from a building that was demolished in August of 2017 got into an unnamed tributary of the Little Volga River and killed an estimated 87-hundred fish.
