KCHA Sports Report (5/7)

The Charles City Comet boys golf team was in Hampton for an 18-hole tournament that also featured the Bulldogs, Iowa Falls, Forest City, and West Hancock.  Carter Klatt helped pace the Comets to a team win as he earned medalist honors with a final score of 77.  Joining Klatt in the top seven overall were four other Comets as Theo Arndt had the fourth best score at 84, Colton Slinger and Noah Schlader each had 89 which was good enough for a tie for fifth and Jackson Freidrich came in seventh with a final tally of 93.  The Comet boys finished with a team total of 339 which was 40 strokes better than second place.  Charles City will return to Northeast Iowa Conference play tonight as they will host Waverly-Shell Rock and New Hampton at Cedar Ridge Golf Course.  The triangular meet is set to begin at 4pm.

The Charles City Comet girls golf team will compete in the NEIC golf tournament today.  The Comets, along with Cresco, Decorah, New Hampton, Oelwein, Waukon and Waverly-Shell Rock will participate in the 18-hole tournament in Cresco.  The teams will all tee off at 10am.

The Charles City Comet girls and boys track teams will also compete in their Conference meet tonight.  The same seven schools will be battling it out right here in Charles City.  The first events are set to begin at 5pm.

The Top of Iowa Conference will be busy as well today as they will have several conference meets today.  The Nashua-Plainfield, North Butler, Osage, Rockford and Saint Ansgar girls and boys track teams will be in Nashua for their Conference meet.  The meet is scheduled to begin at 4pm.

The Husky, Bearcat, Green Devil, Warrior and Saint girls golf teams will be in Saint Ansgar for their Conference golf meet.  The meet will be played at Acorn Park Golf and Recreation and starts at 10am this morning.

The same boys golf teams will participate in their Top of Iowa Conference meet at the Ridge Stone Golf Club in Sheffield.  Their meet will begin at 10am as well.
