The Charles City Comet boys golf team will participate in the Northeast Iowa Conference tournament today.  The Comets will be in Oelwein as they will be up against the Huskies, Crestwood, Decorah, New Hampton Waukon and Waverly.  The meet will consist of 18 holes and will be played at Hickory Grove Golf Course and begin at 10am.

The Nashua-Plainfield, North Butler, Rockford and Saint Ansgar golf teams will take part in a Regional Golf meet today.  The teams will play 18 holes at Silver Springs Golf and Country Club in Ossian.  The meet begins at 10am.

The Osage Green Devil girls golf team will be in a Regional Golf meet of their own today.  They will be playing at Fox Ridge Golf Course in Dike and their 18-hole tournament will start at 10am as well.

The Iowa Hawkeye baseball team pounded out 14 hits and avoided a sweep at the hands of Northwestern with a 10-7 victory in Evanston. Freshman Jack Dreyer (dry-ur) picked up his fourth victory on the mound as the Hawkeyes improved to 10-9 in the Big Ten.

Iowa is seventh in the league race and will close out the regular season by hosting last place Penn State beginning Thursday. The top eight teams qualify for the Big Ten Tournament.
