Charles City Tornado 50th Anniversary Morning Show Special

This picture was taken by the Floyd County sheriff (L. L. Lane) at his spotter position on Highway 14. It shows the tornado when it was 2 miles southwest of Charles City on May 15th, 1968.

A very special morning show was broadcast on Tuesday, May 15th, 2018, 50 years to the day of the deadly tornado that leveled a portion of Charles City. Among the guests of the special broadcast was former KCHA morning man Jim Barker, along with David McCartney, Tim Yeager, Jeff Sisson, Gene Rasmussen, Adam Nielson along with Todd Shea with the National Weather Service in La Crosse, WI. If you missed the show, we have the complete 2 hour segment posted below. Very special thanks to those who made it in to talk about their experiences.

Chris was born in Webster City and raised in Charles City. As a young kid, he would always be caught singing along to songs on the radio. Chris lives in Charles City with his wife Vicki and a daughter Brynlee.
