The Charles City Comet boys golfers were in Oelwein yesterday for the Northeast Iowa Conference meet.  The Comet boys finished in second place, and were able to place five individuals on the All-Conference list.  Carter Klatt and Jackson Molstead each shot an 84 to lead the Comets and put them both in a tie for third overall.  Colton Slinger was tenth overall with an 86.  Theo Arndt was one shot behind him and finished in eleventh with an 87 and Jackson Friedrich shot an 88 which put him in a tie for 13th.  Yesterday’s conference tournament marks the end of the season for the Comet boys as they did not have any qualifiers from the Sectional meet on Friday.

The Nashua-Plainfield, North Butler, Rockford and Saint Ansgar girls golf teams were in Ossian yesterday for their Regional Golf Meet at Silver Springs Golf Course.  The Huskies and Saints finished in second and third in the team race which qualifies them for next week’s State Qualifying meet.  Keagan Betsinger led Nashua with an 18-hole score of 104 which put her in fifth overall.  Her teammate Miranda Crabtree had a 107 which put her in eighth overall.  Saint Ansgar’s Morgan Hemann and Kirsten Boerjan finished in third and fourth individually as Hemann shot a 98 and Boerjan had a 101.  North Butler’s Sarah Goodrich finished in sixth overall with a 105 which qualifies her as an individual for the next round.  The State Qualifying Meet will be held next Monday at the Nashua Town and Country Golf Course.

The Osage Green Devil girls golf team was in Dike for their Class 2A Regional Golf Meet at Fox Ridge Golf Course.  The Green Devils finished in fifth overall with 418 team strokes.  They finished just 23 strokes off of third place.  Osage did not have an individual make it through, so their season comes to a close.
