In a game heard right here on KCHA last night, the Charles City Comet softball team was in Cedar Falls for a non-conference game against the Tigers.  The Comets dropped their first game of the year as Cedar Falls knocked off the Comets 9-0.  Charles City softball is now 7-1 overall this season and they will play again tonight as they will head to Waukon for a Northeast Iowa Conference double-header.  You can tune into both of those games right here on KCHA starting with a pre-game at 5:15 and first pitch of the first game is scheduled for 5:30.

The Charles City Comet baseball game at Turkey Valley last night was postponed.  Not make-up date has yet been announced.

The North Butler Bearcat baseball team hosted Nashua-Plainfield last night in a Top of Iowa Conference game.  The Bearcats scored a pair of runs in the first and sixth innings to come away with a 4-1 win.  Levi Lubben, Kane Allison and Jared Feldman each had two hits for North Butler, Lubben had two doubles and a run scored and Allison had two runs batted in.  Brandon Reiher earned the win as he pitched all seven innings, gave up the one run on six hits and struck out six.  The Bearcat baseball team improves to 3-0 overall this season and 2-0 in conference play and will play again tonight at Saint Ansgar.  The Nashua baseball team falls to 2-4 overall and 0-2 in conference play.  Their next game will be tomorrow night at home against North Union.

The Osage baseball team found themselves in a pitching and defensive battle last night in their Top of Iowa Conference home game against Northwood-Kensett.  The score remained tied 0-0 through nine and a half innings until Osage got a walk-off win in the bottom of the tenth.  Joey Jacobs supplied the RBI single that scored Mason O’Malley for the win.  Lucan Weigle, Brett Bobinet, Gavin Schaeffer and Isaac Oberfell combined to pitch the ten innings for the Green Devils as they gave up just two hits and struck out 13 with Oberfell picking up the win.  The Osage baseball team is now 3-1 overall this season and they are 1-1 in conference games.  They will play again tonight at home against Crestwood.

The Osage Green Devil softball team was in a completely different scenario last night in their home Top of Iowa Conference game against Northwood-Kensett.  The two teams combined for 25 runs as the Green Devils came away with the win 14-11.  It was the first win of the season for Osage as they are now 1-3 overall and 1-1 in TIC games.  They will have another conference game tonight at home against Mason City Newman.

The Rockford Warrior softball team was in non-conference action last night at Eagle Grove.  The Warriors were able to break a 4-4 tie in the top of the seventh and held on to win the game 6-4.  Emma Ramon led the Warrior offense as she had two hits including a home run and two RBI and her teammate Jamie Schuster also had two hits, a run scored and an RBI.  The Rockford softball team is still perfect this season as they move to 6-0 overall on the season.  They will play again tomorrow night at North Butler.

The Rockford Warrior baseball team was also in Eagle Grove last night for some non-conference action.  The Warriors ended up on the losing end of a 12-8 score.  The Rockford baseball team is now 2-2 overall this season and they, too, will play at North Butler tomorrow night.

The Saint Ansgar Saints baseball team earned a shut out win last night as they defeated North Union 8-0 at home.  Collin Kramer pitched the first three innings and gave up no hits and struck out seven.  The Saints are now 4-1-1 this season and will return to action tonight at home against North Butler.
