In a couple of games heard right here on KCHA last night, the Charles City Comet softball team was in Waukon for a Northeast Iowa Conference double-header.  In the first game, the Comets got two home runs from Tayler Schmidt and another from Rachel Chambers in route to a 10-0 win.  Sami Heyer threw the shut out inside the circle to win her fifth conference game of the season.  Game two was a lot more interesting as the Indians hit a grand slam in the bottom of the seventh to get to within one run, but Heyer came in to shut the door and picked up the save as Charles City won the game 7-6.  Ashlyn Hoeft had three hits in the second game including a home run and Schmidt earned the win inside the circle.  The Comet softball team improves to 9-1 overall this season and they stay perfect in the NEIC at 6-0.  Their next game will be at home tomorrow.

The Osage Green Devil softball team was at home last night for a Top of Iowa Conference meeting with Mason City Newman.  The Green Devils could not avoid the big innings on defense as they gave up four runs in the third and six runs in the seventh and dropped the game 14-5.  The Osage offense did have 15 hits on the night including three from Gabby Schwarting, but left a lot of runners on base as a team.  The Green Devil softball team is now 1-4 overall and they are 1-2 in the conference.  They will have their next game on Monday in Garner.

The Osage Green Devil baseball team was at home last night for a non-conference game against Crestwood.  The Green Devil offense couldn’t get things going as they managed just two hits in the game and lost 10-0 in six innings.  The Osage baseball team is now 3-2 overall this season and they will play at home again tonight in a Top of Iowa Conference game against Mason City Newman.

The North Butler baseball team was in Saint Ansgar last night for a Top of Iowa Conference game.  The Bearcats opened the game with five runs in the top of the first and held off the Saints to win the game 11-9.  Levi Lubben, Kendrick Miller, Brandon Reiher and Colton Hobson each had two hits in the game for North Butler with Lubben scoring three runs and Miller driving in three.  Miller was also the winning pitcher.  The Bearcat baseball team improves to 4-0 overall this season and 3-0 in the conference and they will play at home tonight against Rockford.  The Saints baseball team is now 4-2-1 overall this season and 1-1 in league play.  They will be at home tonight against Algona Bishop Garrigan.

The Charles City Comet baseball team will be at home tonight for a Northeast Iowa Conference double-header against Oelwein.  The Comet baseball team is 2-1 overall this season and 1-0 in the NEIC while the Huskies come in at 2-3 and 1-0.  You can tune into both games right here on KCHA starting with a pre-game at 4:45 and first pitch of the first game will be at 5pm.
