Floyd County Courthouse Parking Changes Heading For Public Hearing

Floyd County Board of Supervisors discussed a plan changing parking outside of the courthouse Monday morning.  The plan calls for Floyd County employees to park on the south side of the upper westside parking lot. County vehicles will be required to park on the north side of the upper westside of the parking lot.  The goal of redoing the parking is getting courthouse employees closer to the building before construction on the new law enforcement center begins.

“We’re doing everything we can to make this change so you (employees) have enough time as you can to enjoy parking close to the building, but it will get worse,” says Chairwoman Linda Tjaden.

But Vice Chair Mark Kuhn says the focus should be on the public.

Instead of approving the plan, Kuhn said the next step is to hold a public hearing.
