The Charles City Comet baseball team was in a Northeast Iowa Conference triple-header in New Hampton against Waukon and you heard the complete coverage right here on KCHA. The first game consisted of a suspended game where the Comets were ahead 8-0 going into the fifth inning. Charles City was able to score two runs in the top of the fifth and hold the Indians scoreless to end the game early 10-0. Jace Cajthaml had a home-run and two RBI in the game and Colton Slinger had two hits and three runs scored. Theo Arndt was the winning pitcher, as he threw four innings, allowed four hits and struck out two. In the second game, Cole Reams had two hits and three runs batted in and JJ Ritter had two hits and two runs scored to help the Comets to an 8-3 win. Reams was also the winning pitcher as he threw four and two thirds innings, gave up two hits and struck out four. In the third game, Reams had three hits, Ritter, Slinger and Arndt had two apiece and the Comets were able to sweep the triple-header with a 7-4 win. Dylan Salinas was the winning pitcher as he pitched four and two thirds innings, gave up no runs and no hits and struck out 11. The Comet baseball team improves to 9-6 overall this season and 6-4 in the NEIC. They will play again tonight at Oelwein.
The Charles City Comet softball team also went 3-0 over the weekend as they defeated Algona 4-1 at home on Friday night. They then played in Mason City on Saturday and defeated Forest City 9-2 and Clear Lake 10-0. The Charles City softball team is now 22-2 overall this season and they will be back in action tonight. The Nashua-Plainfield Husky softball team went 2-1 this weekend as they defeated Belmond-Klemme in a Top of Iowa Conference game on Friday 4-3 at home. They then split a pair of games in New Hampton on Saturday as they beat Turkey Valley 10-8 and lost to New Hampton 8-0. The Husky softball team is now 6-11 overall this season and they will play again tonight at Osage.
The Nashua-Plainfield baseball team was shut out on Friday night in their Top of Iowa Conference home game against Belmond-Klemme. The final score was 4-0. The Nashua baseball team is now 5-10 overall and 3-6 in the conference. They will be at Osage tonight as well.
The Osage baseball team hosted Saint Ansgar on Friday night in Top of Iowa Conference action. They Green Devils fell in the game 6-2 to fall to 3-9 overall and 2-5 in league play. They will play at home against Nashua tonight.

They then went 1-1 in Mason City on Saturday as they beat South Hardin 12-9 and lost to Clear Lake 15-14. The Green Devil softball team is now 7-12 overall and 4-4 in TIC games. They will play host to Nashua tonight.
The North Butler Bearcat softball team was defeated 6-2 on Friday night at the hands of North Union in Top of Iowa Conference action. The Bearcats fall to 8-2 in conference games and they will be in action again tonight at Algona Bishop Garrigan.
