In a couple of games heard right here on KCHA Tuesday night, the Charles City Comet baseball team hosted New Hampton in a Northeast Iowa Conference double-header. In the first game, some defensive miscues led to the Chickasaws scoring four unearned runs which was enough to get past the Comets 5-3. Dylan Salinas had a home run and two RBI for the Comets to lead them in the first game and Elliott Sinwell drove in the third run. In the second game, a seven run first inning for Charles City was enough of a cushion to lead them to an 8-5 victory. Colton Slinger and Cole Reams each had a pair of hits and Salinas earned the win on the mound as he went five and a third innings, gave up one run on two hits and struck out ten. The split gives the Comet baseball team an overall record of 13-11 and they finish up the NEIC season with a 9-9 record. They are scheduled to play again tonight against Saint Ansgar.
