WATCH: Despite Hot Temperatures, Independence Day Parade Lit Up America’s Hometown

Charles City, Iowa – America’s Hometown celebrated Independence Day with many activities.  Afternoon showers and thunderstorms cancelled the activities in Central Park.  The Charles City Municipal Band Patriotic Concert moved to the North Grand Auditorium.  However, it was sunny and humid for the midday parade.

You can find photos from the parade by going to the KCHA News Facebook page.

  1. I agree, the marching bands are what make a parade. Growing up in CC during the 50’s-60’s the high school band always wore their uniforms and everyone looked forward to seeing the Postville drum & bugle corps perform.
