Rosie Trees, 64, Greene

Funeral Mass for Rosie Trees, 64, of Greene, will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 8, 2018, at St. Mary Catholic Church with Rev. Msgr. Walter Brunkan officiating.

Visitation will be at Retz Funeral Home in Greene from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 7, 2018 with a Rosary Service at 7:00 p.m.

Rosie was born May 26, 1954, in Mason City, Iowa the daughter of Alphonse and Rose (Esser) Wihlm and passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, August 2, 2018, surrounded by her family and after a long courageous battle with cancer. She received her education in Greene graduating from Greene High School in 1972.

Rosie was a faithful member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Greene.

On December 30, 1972, Rosie was united in marriage to Bryon Trees at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Greene.  This union was blessed with two children, Eric and Lacie.

Rosie worked for 34 years at the Butler County Engineer’s Office. She enjoyed walking, baking, working with her flowers, camping and attending her children’s and grandson’s sporting events.

Everyone knew Rosie loved to spend time doing things with her grandchildren, Deric and Caelyn.  She took them swimming, fishing, sledding, and to the park which brought her great joy.

Rosie is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Bryon; her children: Eric (Lisa) Trees, Clarksville; Lacie (Cole) Clarke, Fairbank; two grandchildren: Deric Trees and Caelyn Clarke; brothers: Bill (Shelby); Dan; Larry (Jane); Dick; Dave (Linda); and Mike (Deb) Wihlm; sisters: Kathy Brunsma; Connie (Bruce) Helgeson; Barb (B0b) Raisty and Judy (Dave) True; brothers-in-law: Al (Jan) Trees and Doug (Emily) Trees; aunts, one uncle, many nieces, nephews, and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband’s parents, Duane ‘Buck’ and Gladys Trees; two sisters-in-law: Karen Wihlm, Micki Wihlm.

Chris Berg

Chris was born in Webster City and raised in Charles City. As a young kid, he would always be caught singing along to songs on the radio. He says he's good at karaoke but we think otherwise. ;) In his free time, he enjoys beginning new projects at home and hardly ever finishing them. Chris lives in Charles City with his wife Vicki, daughter Brynlee and son Jaxon.
