Greene Woman Trapped After Two-Vehicle Collision

Mason City, Iowa – A woman is in fair condition after a two-vehicle crash trapped her in her vehicle in Cerro Gordo County on Monday.

Cerro Gordo County deputies say a 17-year-old male drove eastbound on 120th  while the second vehicle driven by 54-year-old Mary Steere of Green drove Southbound on Vine.

The vehicles entered an uncontrolled intersection at the same time and collided, according to the sheriff’s office.  They went into the southeast ditch, where Steere was trapped for a short time until firefighters extracted her.

Hospital officials say Steere is in Fair condition Tuesday afternoon.

The crash remains under investigation.
