Floyd County First Responders Participate In New Emergency Training

Charles City, Iowa – Yesterday, first responders in Floyd County participated in hazmat training at the Grand Building in Charles City.  Lezlie Weber is Floyd County’s Emergency Management Coordinator.

The responders learned about rail cars, valves, what types of liquid and how it’s stored.  The final part to the training outlined how to clean up the spill.

Brian Chambers is the fire chief at Marble Rock.  He says the training is helpful because it helps update technology and puts everyone on the same page.

Chris was born in Webster City and raised in Charles City. As a young kid, he would always be caught singing along to songs on the radio. He says he's good at karaoke but we think otherwise. ;) In his free time, he enjoys beginning new projects at home and hardly ever finishing them. Chris lives in Charles City with his wife Vicki, daughter Brynlee and son Jaxon.
