Charles City Cross Country at Cedar Falls

The Charles Cross Country team ran at Cedar Falls last night and boys coach Ryan Rahmiller said it’s one of the most difficult courses of the year and it wasn’t much different last night.


The Comets finished 15th as a team and the top Comet finisher was Mason Deeter with a time of 18:25 and came in 44 out of nearly 150 runners. Cedar Falls and C R Kennedy led the men’s side.  

The girl’s cross country team ran to ninth place last night and Kikk Connel led the Comets with  20:01 time and placed fifth overall.

Charles City vs Oelwein

The Charles City Comets look for their third straight win tonight.  The Comets host 2-1 Oelwein who feature a quarterback who completes 56 percent of his passes for nearly 550 yards this year. Darren Bohlen is the Comets head coach.


The Comets and Oelwein can be heard right here on North Iowa’s Sports Leader 959 KCHA.  The broadcast begins at 6:45 with the Radio Iowa Scouting Report, a 7pm pregame show and 7:30 kickoff from Comet Field.

Nashua-Plainfield vs West Fork

The 0-3 Nashua-Plainfield Huskies are looking for two things in week four, points and a win.  They will host 2-1 West Fork who’s coming off of a 35-25 road-win over Central Springs.

Osage vs Garner

The Osage Green Devils look to bounce back after a 28-48 loss.  The Green Devils sport the number one offense in class one A, and they travel to Garner tonight.  Garner-Hayfield-Ventura is 1-2 after a 55-14 blowout at Clear Lake last week. Osage is 1-2.

North Butler vs Belmond-Klemme

The North Butler Bearcats look to snap a two-game skid on the road at Belmond-Klemme tonight.  The Bearcats lost 56-0 last week to Dike-New Hartford. North Butler is 1-2 and Belmond-Klemme is 3-0 with a most-recent 43-36 win over Southeast Valley.

Rockford vs Dunkerton

Rockford needs a big win, in a big way.  After getting dropped 80-6 to number one Don Bosco last week, the Warriors look to rebound on the road at 1-2 Dunkerton.  Rockford is 2-1 in the 2018 campaign.

Riceville vs Tripoli

The Riceville Wildcats travel to Tripoli tonight after getting shut out 38-0 in week 3.  Tripoli is 2-1 after a 30-8 win over North Iowa last week. Ricevill is also 2-1.

Saint Ansgar vs Postville

The Saint Ansgar Saints are at Postville tonight after their 54-6 thumping of Starmont last week.  Postville is 0-3 and is coming off of a 60-14 loss at South Winneshiek last Friday.


The only volleyball game from last night had Riceville hosting 13-1 Janesville and Janesvile came away with a straight-set sweep.  The Wildcats are 2-7.

5-9 Charles City and 9-2 Osage are in the Dike-New Hartford volleyball tournament.

Winless Nashua-Plainfield hosts their tournament, which includes Rockford.

The North Butler Bearcats are in the Gladbrook-Reinbeck tournament tomorrow.

Saint Ansgar looks to improve their 2-game win streak this week traveling to the Forest City tournament.
