Donations Needed To Help Blast Of Firework Show

Charles City, Iowa = You’ve probably heard the phrase “getting the biggest bang for your buck” … well, it’s never been more literal when it comes to supporting the Fourth of July Fireworks Show in Charles City!

The annual fireworks display over the Cedar River downtown is completely funded by donations, both from sponsors and private contributors. It is also supported through donations of redeemable cans and plastic bottles at the special fireworks fund bins located next to Dollar General or at Walker’s Redemption Center. The more donations received, the bigger and better the next year’s show can be.

In an effort to make it even easier to donate your cans and bottles, the Outreach Committee of Community Revitalization is offering a special drop-off fireworks fund sticker. Simply attach the free sticker to a bag of cans/bottles and drop it off any time that is convenient to you at Walker’s Redemption Center located at 501 M St.

There is no need to take them inside, wait in line or even take them when the center is open. A drop-off site is located just off to the side of the front door … as long as the “Support Our Fireworks” sticker is attached, your donation will be earmarked solely for the fireworks fund.

Chris Berg

Chris was born in Webster City and raised in Charles City. As a young kid, he would always be caught singing along to songs on the radio. He says he's good at karaoke but we think otherwise. ;) In his free time, he enjoys beginning new projects at home and hardly ever finishing them. Chris lives in Charles City with his wife Vicki, daughter Brynlee and son Jaxon.
