Sumner-Fred Uses Grant To Help Spark Wellness Initiative

Fredricksburg, Iowa –

The Sumner-Fredricksburg school district is engineering new ways to think about school drinking water. Jill Glen is the Sumner-Fred Middle School principal and she says they applied for garnt for water filling stations.

Thanks to Rethink Your Drink, a program administered by Delta Dental of Iowa Foundation, the school district has received one station via a grant and have purchased another one to fill their elementary and middle school.   Glen says the idea has taken off.

Delta Dental supplied 27 thousand 600 students and teachers with water filling stations along with water bottles and tooth brushes in Iowa.  Glenn said this is one of the many ways the school district is rethinking student wellness.

Chris was born in Webster City and raised in Charles City. As a young kid, he would always be caught singing along to songs on the radio. He says he's good at karaoke but we think otherwise. ;) In his free time, he enjoys beginning new projects at home and hardly ever finishing them. Chris lives in Charles City with his wife Vicki, daughter Brynlee and son Jaxon.
