Volleyball Postseason Pairing Released; Osage Highlights Tuesday Night’s Games

Charles City 3, Oelwein 0

The Charles City notched their tenth win of the season over Oewlein last night.  The Comets took down the Huskies in straight sets 25-10, 25-18, and 25-21. Charles City is 10-22 and faces Osage on Monday.  

Osage 3, Northwood-Kensett 0

The Osage Green Devils are now four-time conference champs!  Osage demolished Northwood-Kensett 25-5, 25-7 and 25-12 last night.  Sydney Midlang led the Green Devils with 12 kills. Paige Kisley and Dani Johnson added 7 each.  The Green Devils served 15 aces in the match last night. Osage is 19-5 and is in the Mason City tournament Saturday.

North Butler 3, Rockford 0

The North Butler Bearcats have extended their winning street to six.  North Butler swept the Rockford Warriors last night. 25-17, 25-17 and 25-22.  Kayla Carroll led the Warriors with nine kills and Jamie Schuster netted five.  Rockford has lost three straight and falls to 9-10, North Butler improves to 14-10.  The Warriors are at Garner on Thursday. North Butler travels to North Iowa on Saturday.  

Saint Ansgar 3, Mason City Newman 0

Make it five in a row for the Saint Ansgar Saints.  The Saints beat Mason City Newman 3-1 last night.  Blayne Koster led the Saints attack with 12 kills and Jadyn Anderson and Brooke Hackbard added 7 each.  The SAints combined for 15 aces in the win. Saint Ansgar is 9-8 and plays in the Mason City tournament on Saturday.

West Fork 3, Nashua-Plainfield 2

Nashua-Plainfield went the distance last night with West Fork, but the Huskies fell in the fifth set 15-11  Liberty Fisher led the Husky offense with 21 kills and the Huskies exploded for 51 in the match along with 12 aces.  The Huskies are 3-18 and are in the Hampton Dumont tournament Saturday.

Don Bosco 3, Riceville 0

The Riceville Wildcats have fallen to 6-16 on the year.  The Don Bosco Dons swept the Wildcats last night. 25-12, 25-7 and 25-9.  Riceville hosts their own tournament Saturday.

The 2018 Iowa High school girls regional pairings have been released.

4A Region 4: Charles City hosts Decorah Wednesday October 17 at 7

3A Region 3: Osage hosts Clear Lake on Wednesday October 17 at 7

2A Region 6: Central Springs will host Saint Ansgar at 7 on Tuesday October 16.

1A Region 4Rockford will play Northwood-Kensett  on Tuesday October 16 at 7

North Butler hosts Newman Catholic. 

Class 1A Region 5: Riceville hosts Kee-High at 7 on Tuesday October 16.

Nashua-Plainfield will host West Central.
