City Denied Grant For Reconstruction Of Historical Bridge

Charles City, Iowa – The Iowa Department of Natural Resources has denied Charles City a 100 thousand dollar grant to help fund the replacement of the Charlie Western Trail bridge.

 The Iowa DNR ranked 24 communities based on the size of Charles City and the amount of requested funds. The top five received the grant. Charles City finished 13th.  

Applications were ranked on different criteria like size and the public’s benefits.
