Area Kick Off Times Adjusted For Impending Weather, This Weekend’s Volleyball Lineup

The onslaught of wet weather has forced several area games to have earlier kickoff times.

Charles City vs Independence: 5pm

The Charles City Comets host the Independence Mustangs tonight from Comet Field at 5, not 7.  In their regular home season finale, the Comets look to rebound after their 49-38 setback to Decorah last week.  Independence comes into the match with a 5-1 record.

North Butler at Osage: 5:30 pm

Osage and North Butler square off at 5:30 tonight.  The 4-2 Green Devils are a top the district themselves after hanging on to beat Sumner-Fred last week 22-14.  North Butler is looking to break a five game losing streak after a 37-7 loss to Lake Mills.

Nashua-Plainfield vs Central Springs: 5:30 pm

Nashua-Plainfield and Central Springs will now kickoff at 5:30.  The Huskies will search for their first of the 2018 campaign after their 38-16 loss at South Winneshiek last week.  Central Springs is 3-2 and is coming off a 13-point win over Postville.

Rockford at Tripoli: 5:30 pm

5-1 Rockford is coming off an explosive 64-6 win over North Iowa last week and they’re on the road at 3-3 Tripoli who’ve lost two straight after a 46-19 setback to Janesville last week.  This kickoff is slated for 5:30.

Saint Asngar vs South Winneshiek

After their 27-12 loss to #1 Hudson last week, the Saint Ansgar saints host South Winneshiek tonight.  South Winn is coming off their win over Nashua-Plainfield. No word on a new kickoff time between the Saints and the Warriors.

Riceville at North Iowa

Riceville and their four-game losing streak is up for breaking tonight as the Wildcats travel to North Iowa.  North Iowa has also lost four straight and is 1-6 on the year. No word on new kickoff time.

Rockford 3, GHV 1

The Rockford Warrior volleyball team notched their 10th win of the season beating Garner-Hayfield-Ventura 3-1 last night.  Kayla Carroll and Amber Reams each had 9 kills in the match and the Warriors bagged nine aces. They host Belmond-Klemme next Thursday.

Tomorrow’s Volleyball Lineup

19-5 Osage and Saint Ansgar are in the Mason City tournament.

Nashua-Plainfield is in the Hampton-Dumont tournament.

North Butler is at North Iowa.

Riceville hosts their own tournament tomorrow.
