Public Invited To Issues-Based Candidate Forum

Charles City, Iowa – Voters will have an opportunity to hear from and meet their candidates for Floyd County government offices prior to the November 6th election at a public candidate forum on Thursday.  It starts at 7 p.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church and is open to all.

All candidates for the contested races for Floyd County Supervisor and Floyd County Treasurer have agreed to take part in the forum:  Incumbent Doug Kamm, a Republican, Democrats Roy Schwickerath and Stewart Dalton, as well as independent candidate Michael Staudt. Floyd County Treasurer Frank Rottinghaus, a Democrat, is also seeking re-election and being challenged by Independent candidate Todd Schriever.

Other Floyd County candidates running unopposed are Recorder Deb Roberts, County Attorney Rachel Ginbey and State District 52 Representative Todd Prichard. All have been invited to attend as well.

The public is encouraged to attend and to ask questions of their candidates. Questions must be submitted in writing, either in advance to the Chamber office.

Chris was born in Webster City and raised in Charles City. As a young kid, he would always be caught singing along to songs on the radio. He says he's good at karaoke but we think otherwise. ;) In his free time, he enjoys beginning new projects at home and hardly ever finishing them. Chris lives in Charles City with his wife Vicki, daughter Brynlee and son Jaxon.
