Iowa State vs #6 West Virginia: 6pm kickoff, 4pm pregame show

The Iowa State defense has been a strength through the first half of the season but that unit faces a big test Saturday night against sixth ranked West Virginia. Mountaineer quarterback Will Grier  is averaging 364 yards of passing per game and has 21 touchdown passes.

That’s ISU linebacker Willie Harvey who says Grier directs as very efficient offense.

The Cyclone offense is coming off its most impressive performance in a 48-42 win at Oklahoma State and center Colin Newell says a healthy offensive line is starting to jell.

Newell says the ability of freshman quarterback Brock Purdy to run gave the offense a spark.

Iowa vs Indiana: 11am kickoff, 9am pregame show

Football is about matchups and the Indiana offense has been a tough one for a normally stout Iowa defense. In the last three meetings in the series,  the Hoosiers have averaged 435 yards and 27 points.  This week the Hawks will try to contain a balanced Indiana attack led by quarterback Peyton Ramsey. This is safety Amani Hooker.

In the last two meetings the Hoosiers have rushed for more than 200 yards. Here’s defensive end Parker Hesse.

Iowa’s offense is run first but the Hawkeyes showed they can rely on the pass if needed in a victory over Minnesota. Held to just 106 yards on the ground, the Hawkeye pass game tallied 314 yards in a 48-31 win.

That’s sophomore tackle Tristan Wirfs. Sophomore receiver Ihmir Smith-Marsette says the Hawkeyes are equipped to take what the defense gives them.
