Charles City at West Delaware

The 4-3 Charles City Comets are on the road tonight squaring off with West Delaware.  The 3-4 Hawks have lost four straight games – including a 28-13 loss at Decorah last week.  Comet Coach Darren Bohlen on tonight’s matchup:

Osage at Lake Mills

The Osage Green Devils look for a district title tonight at Lake Mills.  Osage is coming off of a 60-0 blanking of North Butler Last week. The 5-2 Green Devils have won four straight.  Lake Mills blew out Aplington-Parkersburg 31-14 last week and is 3-4, but has won the last two games.

Rockford at Riceville

The 6-1 Rockford Warriors and the 3-4 Riceville Wildcats battle it out tonight.  Riceville blew out North Iowa 54-20 and Rockford edged Tripoli by two last week. The Warriors are winners of four straight after a week three loss to Don Bosco.  

Nashua-Plainfield at Starmont

The Nashua-Plainfield Huskies look for their first win tonight. Sitting at 0-7, coming off their closest game of the season – a 20-0 loss to Central Springs, Nashua-Plainfield faces a winless Starmont team.  They have forfeited the last two games they’ve played.

North Butler vs Denver

The North Butler Bearcats look to snap a six game losing streak tonight hosting Denver.  The Bearcats fell last week by 60 points to Osage. Denver has a lone win over Aplington-Parkersburg in the district and lost 16-13 to Sumner-Fredricksburg last week.

Saint Ansgar at Mason City Newmann

The 5-2 Saint Ansgar Saints head to Mason City Newman tonight.  Last week the Saints edged South Winneshiek 40-39. Mason City Newman is 4-2 and lost 21-20 to Grundy Center last week.

Area Volleyball

The Osage Green Devil volleyball team ends the regular season at 26-6 after splitting games in the Janesville Triangular last night. Top-ranked Janesville swept Osage in the first game 25-16 in both sets, but rebounded with a win over Aplington Parkersburg.  Osage begins their postseason next Wednesday in the 3A 3 regional.

The Rockford Warriors picked up two big wins in their home triangular last night to improve to 12-10.  The Warriors had straight set sweeps over Cedar Falls Valley Lutheran and Belmond Klemme last night. The Warriors travel to Garner-Hayfield-Ventura Saturday to face Central Springs and North Iowa to end the regular season.
