Charles City, Iowa – During their planning session yesterday, the Floyd County Supervisors discussed the possibility of the Mental Health Department, DHS and veterans affairs to move into the updated courthouse. Bob Lincoln is with Veteran’s Affairs.
Vicki Hendershot is the business manager for DHS and she said their main concern isn’t cost but space.
County Treasurer Frank Rottinghaus would like to create a specialist position for one of his employees who already works within the treasurer’s office. In 2013 the board passed a statute asking all department to scale back their deputies to one via attrition to save on costs, but Rottinghaus says he feels his employees should properly be reimbursed since they have to pick up the extra workload.
Chairwoman Linda Tjaden said allowing this could set a precedent for the rest of the departments to follow.
