Occupational Therapist Charged With Prescription Drugs Theft And HIPPA Violations

Cedar Rapids, Iowa – A North Iowa occupational therapist has been federally charged for stealing prescription drugs and violation patient confidentiality laws.

According to court records, 32-year-old Samantha Jo Rogers of Mason City went through coworker’s purses and showed up to patients’ homes looking for drugs.  

She’s charged with obtaining and attempting to obtain a controlled substance by fraud, Criminal HIPAA violations and aiding and abetting.

The incidents occurred between October 2017 and May of 2018 in Cerro Gordo County.  

Released on hoer own recognizance, Rogers appeared in U.S. District Court last week in Cedar Rapids and no other court date has been set.
