Students Band Together To Raise Money For Classmate’s Mother

Fredericksburg, Iowa – The 6th grade students at the Sumner-Fredericksburg Middle School recently did their part to support a fellow student’s mother and help raise breast cancer awareness by wearing pink shirts.

Renee Bullerman is the school counselor at the  Sumner-Fredericksburg school district.

The class organized a shirt fundraiser where students and staff were able to buy “Stacy Strong shirts.” The 6th grade also held a concert to help raise money for cancer awareness, just one of many ideas the students crafted.

That’s the  school’s music teacher Gail Allison who says her class is doing their job of being proactive citizens in the community.

Chris Berg

Chris was born in Webster City and raised in Charles City. As a young kid, he would always be caught singing along to songs on the radio. He says he's good at karaoke but we think otherwise. ;) In his free time, he enjoys beginning new projects at home and hardly ever finishing them. Chris lives in Charles City with his wife Vicki, daughter Brynlee and son Jaxon.
