ISU Keeps Title Hopes Alive, Hawks Championship Hopes Slashed

Iowa State 28, Baylor 14

Iowa State has climbed to 18th in the latest Associated Press Poll. The Cyclones won their fifth straight game with a 28-14 victory over Baylor and now get set to visit 13th ranked Texas. ISU needs a win to keep its Big-12 title hopes alive.

Northwestern 14, Iowa 10

The Iowa Hawkeyes West Division Title hopes came to a  screeching halt Saturday as the Northwestern Wildcats bounced the Hawks from contending in the west with a 14-10 win.

Northwestern locked up the Big Ten West division and advances to the championship game for the first time.  

Hawks quarterback Nate Stanley threw for 269 yards on 27-41 passing and one score.  Iowa only ran for 64 yards and Northwestern’s score with 9:27 left in the game sealed Iowa’s fate.

The Hawks have lost three straight and travel to Illinois Saturday.

Iowa 93, Wisconsin-Green Bay 82

Luka Garza had 17 points on eight of 12 shooting as Iowa pulled away down the stetch for a 93-82 win over Wisconsin-Green Bay. Garza was one of six Hawkeyes in double figures.


The Hawkeyes also got 33 points from the bench.
