Charles City High School Cashes In On 10 Thousand Dollar Donation

Charles City, Iowa – Charles City Community School District has announced MidAmerican Energy has donated 10 thousand dollars the school’s multi-million dollar sports complex.

That’s Charles City High School Athletic Director Todd Forsyth.  He says the school has raised just shy of 500 thousand dollars, including 250 thousand dollars in matching funds. The school is researching grants, but Forsyth says the grants require the school to be further along in their fundraising efforts.

The complex will sit on 20 acres on the north east side of town, near the Washington Elementary school.  Forsyth said this idea is closest to reality since being thought over nearly a decade ago.

The new sports complex can’t move forward until there’s enough funding.  Forsyth says there are several different ways to donate to the project. You can go to their website for my information or call him at the high school.

Chris was born in Webster City and raised in Charles City. As a young kid, he would always be caught singing along to songs on the radio. He says he's good at karaoke but we think otherwise. ;) In his free time, he enjoys beginning new projects at home and hardly ever finishing them. Chris lives in Charles City with his wife Vicki, daughter Brynlee and son Jaxon.
