Arrest Made In String Of Burglaries Across Northeast Iowa

Bremer County, Iowa – A Waterloo man is behind bars and facing multiple theft charges in connection with several burglaries over the last month in Northeast Iowa.  

Chickasaw County Sheriff Mary Heman says his department along with a multi-jurisdictional task force worked together to make the arrest.


The suspect has been identified as 35-year-old Jonathan Henry Martin.  According to the Oelwein Police Department, Martin after was apprehended on Sunday after reportedly burglarizing Town Mart in Rudd.   

Heman says they were able to link Martin to the string of crimes.


Three crimes occured on Sunday  in Floyd County, two break ins occured in Chickasaw county in late November and one in Oelwein on November 5th.


Eleven different law enforcement agencies make up the task force.
