Darrell Sherbon, 64, Charles City

Darrell Sherbon, 64, of Charles City, passed away Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City.

A memorial service for Darrell Sherbon will be held at 12:00 p.m. (Noon) Saturday, December 22, 2018 at Saint John Evangelical Lutheran Church with Pastor Russ Leeper officiating.

A gathering of family and friends will take place one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church.

Darrell Lee Sherbon, the son of George and Myrtle (Mohring) Sherbon, was born on May 21, 1954 in Charles City. He graduated from Charles City High School in 1972. On January 25, 1980 he was united in marriage to DeAnna Berens. To this union two children were born: Miranda and Brant. The couple later divorced.

Darrell worked and managed many auto-part stores in the Charles City and Austin, Minnesota area. He was a member of the Jaycees, Eagles, and Saint John Evangelical Lutheran Church. Darrell could fix anything mechanical, enjoyed rebuilding old cars, and working in his garage. He loved to tinker with the newest electronics and would often share that love with his grandchildren. He enjoyed playing pool and spending time with his friends. Above anything else, Darrell loved spending quality time with his family.

Living family members include his children: Miranda Thorson and Brant Sherbon; grandchildren: Chloe Temple, Marley Sherbon, and Ezra Sherbon; sister, Jean (John) Rima; along with other family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Myrtle; maternal grandparents, Bertha Thiem Mohring and Otto Mohring, Sr.; and nephew, Reggie Rima.

Chris was born in Webster City and raised in Charles City. As a young kid, he would always be caught singing along to songs on the radio. He says he's good at karaoke but we think otherwise. ;) In his free time, he enjoys beginning new projects at home and hardly ever finishing them. Chris lives in Charles City with his wife Vicki, daughter Brynlee and son Jaxon.
