Late-Week Forecast Calls For Rain And Snow, Rising River Levels

Charles City, Iowa – Late-week precipitation is expected for the area.  The National Weather Service says locally heavy rain tonight and snow accumulation could cause local streams and rivers to rise.

Three-quarters of an inch to an inch and half of rain is expected tonight into tomorrow.  With the frozen ground, the water will run off into streams and rivers.

Rivers are expected to remain in their banks, but if rainfall amounts are higher, some flooding could be expected.

An additional one to two inches of snow is also possible depending when the temperature drops below freezing.
