The Score Sheet: Comet girls fall on the road, Osage sweeps and ISU enters AP rankings

Monday night’s scores:
The Charles City Comet girls began their five –game road stretch by going to Iowa Falls-Alden. The Comets fell 70-30. They’re in action tonight against New Hampton.
The Osage Green Devils thumped Hampton-Dumont 63-43 last night to improve to 10-0, while the boys made quick work of Hampton-Dumont winning 62-17 last night.

ISU debuts in AP Top 25.
The Iowa State Cyclones debut in the Associated Press top-25 this week at number 20. The Cyclones are 2-0 in the Big-12 after a lopsided win over fifth ranked Kansas and they return to action tomorrow night at Baylor.
That’s Iowa State coach Steve Prohm who believes improved team defense has been a key.
Prohm says the Cyclones have what it takes to be good on defense.
Baylor is 8-5 overall and opened Big-12 play with a loss to TCU.
