Clarksville’s free ice skating rink drawing adventurists near and far

Clarksville, Iowa – Clarksville Mayor Val Swinton calls the town’s newest and most popular attraction simple and profound.

The free – open to anyone from anywhere – ice skating rink is ready for skaters of all levels.

Swinton says the city council called the creation a ‘no-brainier’ when it came time to approve the project.

The rink is in Pioneer Park near the softball diamonds by the splash pads.

It’s been open for some time after the warmer weather cooled off.

Swinton says the project’s popularity should spark conversations in your community about what can be done with a simple idea and ambition.

He says he's good at karaoke but we think otherwise. ;) In his free time, he enjoys beginning new projects at home and hardly ever finishing them. Chris lives in Charles City with his wife Vicki, daughter Brynlee and son Jaxon.
