Floyd and Chickasaw County road departments quiet due to cold and blowing snow

Charles City, Iowa – The Chickasaw and Floyd County Engineer Dusty Rolando announced yesterday afternoon the road departments will not be treating or plowing roads.

Due to the extreme cold temperatures, equipment will not be running Wednesday unless of a life threatening emergency. Thursday will likely be the same, but Rolando will re-evaluate if county equipment will be back out and decide based on temperatures.

If there is a life threatening situation and county equipment is needed, please contact 911.

Rolando reminded both county boards of supervisors at previous meetings of the snow policy.

Chris was born in Webster City and raised in Charles City. As a young kid, he would always be caught singing along to songs on the radio. He says he's good at karaoke but we think otherwise. ;) In his free time, he enjoys beginning new projects at home and hardly ever finishing them. Chris lives in Charles City with his wife Vicki, daughter Brynlee and son Jaxon.
