Drug search comes up cold during sweep at high school

Charles City, Iowa – Charles City High School is drug free.

The Charles City Police Department performed a drug sweep last Friday in partnership with the school district.

The sweep turned up no illicit drugs or paraphernalia and no arrests.

“We’re very pleased with the results, ” Principal Bryan Jurrens says. ” We’re not trying to catch anyone, we’re saying don’t bring drugs to school.”

School officials put the school on a ‘hold’ for 18 minutes, students weren’t allowed to leave the classroom during the K-9 search.  No classrooms were entered.

Chris was born in Webster City and raised in Charles City. As a young kid, he would always be caught singing along to songs on the radio. He says he's good at karaoke but we think otherwise. ;) In his free time, he enjoys beginning new projects at home and hardly ever finishing them. Chris lives in Charles City with his wife Vicki, daughter Brynlee and son Jaxon.
